Amla or Indian gooseberry a, powerhouse of nutrients is a deciduous tree of the family Phyllanthaceae. The fruit has excessive use in Aurveda for prepration of medicines. The three sub-varieties are Chaikaya amla, Francis amla and Banarasi amala.
